Safety considerations
The installation and maintenance of all gas appliances in your
home should always be carried out by a competent gas safe registered engineer or
gas safe plumber, you should never consider installing a gas ap
pliance yourself,
gas in the wrong hands, apart from being illegal, can be extremely dangerous. The
dangers of incorrect installation include gas leaks and carbon monoxide exposure.
The former can be easy to detect due to the smell, although it can potentially have
disastrous consequences, the latter has no smell, colour or taste, and can be fatal
if it goes undetected.
